Al Zorah Nature Reserve
A million square metres of mangroves — flamingos, kayaks and dawn glass water
The sandspit behind the mangroves — reachable by paddle, shared with herons
Where Al Zorah's lagoon meets the sea, sandbars and a quiet back-beach hide behind the mangrove line — no road, no signage, no way in but by kayak, paddleboard or a committed low-tide walk. Which is exactly why herons, egrets and the occasional flamingo treat it as theirs.
Paddling in is the whole experience: channels through the mangroves open suddenly onto white sand and glass-still water, with the Ajman skyline a distant afterthought. Beach picnics here feel earned and private.
Tides run the show — plan around high water for the paddle, and leave the sandbars as unmarked as you found them.
