Dubai's oldest big park — ghaf forest, pools, ziplines and actual wilderness
Mushrif is Dubai's original mega park — hundreds of hectares of indigenous ghaf woodland on the city's eastern edge, old enough that the trees form genuine forest. Most visitors cluster at the front lawns and pools; the deeper you go, the wilder it gets, until the park fades into open desert scrub with gazelles.
It packs a strange, wonderful mix: separate men's and ladies' swimming pools, the vintage "international village" of miniature world houses, camel and horse rides, a huge aerial adventure course strung through the treetops (Aventura Parks), and endless BBQ clearings among the trees.
For visitors it's the anti-mall: cheap, shady, local and vast. Rent bikes at the gate, ride the forest loops, and picnic where the ghaf canopy closes overhead — Dubai as almost nobody pictures it.
