📖 About

Founded by Sheikh Zayed in 1968, Al Ain Zoo grew into the region's conservation heavyweight: 4,000 animals across generous desert-landscaped enclosures, with Arabian species — oryx, sand cats, houbara — bred here for reintroduction programmes across the peninsula.

The Al Ain Safari add-on runs open-vehicle drives through an African-style savannah (lions, rhino, giraffe at herd scale), while the elevated Hafeet backdrop makes even a stroll photogenic. Family pricing stays defiantly old-school.

⭐ Highlights

  • Sheikh Zayed's original conservation project
  • Arabian species breeding programmes
  • Al Ain Safari savannah drives
  • AED 35 base entry

💡 Insider Tips

  • Book the safari drive slot on arrival — they fill.
  • Late afternoon beats midday for animal activity.
  • The giraffe-feeding session is the kids' highlight.
