The east coast's resort bay — Snoopy Island snorkelling from the sand
Al Aqah is the east coast's classic resort bay — a wide amber beach facing Snoopy Island, the beagle-shaped rock whose surrounding reef makes it the most accessible snorkelling in the UAE: turtles, rays and reef fish a short swim from shore.
The strip's hotels (Le Méridien, Fujairah Rotana and co.) anchor it, but public sand flanks them and day passes open the pools and loungers to road-trippers. Just over the border from Sharjah's Khor Fakkan enclave, it slots naturally into any east-coast circuit.
It earns the gem badge for what it isn't: no towers, no jet-ski walls — mountains behind, reef in front, and the Indian Ocean doing the entertaining.
