Khor Fakkan Amphitheatre & Waterfall
A Roman-style amphitheatre with a mountain waterfall — the east coast's surprise
A crescent bay where the Hajar Mountains fall into the Indian Ocean
Khor Fakkan's beach is the east coast's showpiece: a golden crescent wrapped by mountain headlands, with Shark Island floating offshore and water that runs Indian-Ocean clear — a different sea entirely from the Gulf side.
The town has been groomed into a proper destination: a palm-lined corniche, the dramatic Roman-style amphitheatre and artificial waterfall at the bay's end, cafés, watersport kiosks and boat operators running snorkel trips to the island.
The drive itself justifies the day — the Khor Fakkan highway tunnels and sweeps through the Hajars — and Al Rafisah Dam and Wadi Shis wait just inland for the full mountain-and-sea circuit.
