📖 About

Ajman's second exclave, Al Manama, sits where the desert starts becoming mountain: ochre gravel plains studded with acacia, low rocky jebels, plantation farms — a transitional landscape with an old fort in the town and utter peace everywhere else.

Historically an agricultural station on the coast-to-east-coast route, it remains exactly that: most travellers stream past on the E88 toward Masafi and Fujairah without registering they've crossed an emirate. Stopping is the whole trick.

Wander the town's modest heritage corner, take a track into the plains for a thermos sunset among the acacias, and collect the quietest of the seven emirates' quiet corners.

⭐ Highlights

  • The exclave nobody notices crossing
  • Ochre plains and acacia-dotted foothills
  • Al Manama's old fort and heritage corner
  • A natural break on the east-coast run
  • Silence as the main attraction

💡 Insider Tips

  • Combine with any Fujairah/east-coast drive — it's directly en route.
  • The Friday Market at Masafi is minutes on; stack the stops.
  • Acacia flats hide soft patches; keep 2WDs to obvious tracks.
  • Late light makes the ochre glow — time the pause accordingly.
