Corniche Beach
Eight kilometres of Blue Flag beachfront along the capital's front porch
The capital's new playground — free beaches, world-class cycle tracks, skyline views
Hudayriyat is Abu Dhabi's newest obsession: a formerly empty island transformed into a vast free sports-and-leisure landscape — long clean beaches facing the city skyline, a marquee cycling infrastructure (flat loops, a velodrome-grade track and even a synthetic climb), Circuit X action parks, camping villages and waterfront food outlets.
The beach itself is the hidden-gem headline: wide, uncrowded, facing the water with the Abu Dhabi skyline stacked behind — and free, with facilities that embarrass many paid beaches. Evenings bring runners, riders and families to the 10 km waterfront corridor.
It's the local's recommendation that tourists haven't caught up with yet. Rent a bike, ride the shoreline at sunset, swim, and eat at the beach containers — a full resort day for the price of dinner.
