Corniche Beach
Eight kilometres of Blue Flag beachfront along the capital's front porch
Old Arabia reconstructed by the water — free, with the skyline as counterpoint
On the Breakwater across from the Corniche towers, the Emirates Heritage Club maintains a reconstructed slice of pre-oil life: a barasti palm-frond village, Bedouin goat-hair tents, a falaj irrigation channel, a small souk, and workshops where craftspeople work metal, glass, pottery and weaving the old way.
It's modest, free, and more charming than it has any right to be — camels in the yard, a little museum of pearling and daily-life artefacts, and craft demonstrations you can lean into. Children get the run of a place built at their scale.
The site's secret weapon is its position: from the village beach, the full Corniche skyline stacks across the water — the thatch-hut-to-skyscraper photo that summarises the UAE in one frame.
