📖 About

The UAE's last traditional camel market trades every morning in Al Ain: pens of racing prospects, breeding females and placid pack animals, appraised by men who read camels the way jewellers read stones, with deals sealed over handshakes and thermos coffee.

Visitors are tolerated warmly — this is a working market, not a show — and a respectful wander among the pens, calves bawling and traders debating bloodlines, delivers more authentic Arabia per minute than most paid experiences in the country.

⭐ Highlights

  • The country's last true camel souk
  • Morning trading theatre
  • Racing bloodlines and week-old calves
  • Free, unstaged, unforgettable

💡 Insider Tips

  • Go early — trading thins by late morning.
  • Politely decline "guide" offers unless you want one (agree price first).
  • Ask before photographing traders; the camels don't mind.
