The Dubai Mall
The world's most visited mall — a city under one roof at the foot of the Burj Khalifa
Dubai's open-air design district — street art, boutiques and Burj Khalifa views
City Walk swaps the air-conditioned mall formula for European-style open streets: low-rise boutiques, pavement cafés, fountains, and some of the best street art in the city — giant murals by international artists turn the buildings themselves into a gallery.
It's also a legitimate attractions hub: The Green Planet's indoor rainforest bio-dome (with sloths, toucans and a four-storey living tree) sits at one corner, and the 17,000-seat Coca-Cola Arena — the region's biggest indoor venue — anchors the other. Between them: designer boutiques, concept stores and a strong restaurant line-up.
Come after sunset in the cooler months, when the fountains, festoon lights and Burj Khalifa glimpses down the avenues make it one of Dubai's most pleasant evening strolls — and one of its favourite Instagram sets.
