Bronze Age finds and pearling life — the east coast's attic, well kept
The oldest fort in the UAE — 500 years guarding the east coast
Dated to the 1500s–1600s, Fujairah Fort is counted the oldest in the country: a mud-and-stone stronghold on a rocky rise that survived Portuguese bombardment, British naval shelling (1925) and four centuries of coastal politics before its careful restoration.
Its irregular towers and ramparts overlook date gardens, the restored old-town houses at its feet and the Hajar wall behind — the east coast's whole story in one panorama. Pair with the museum and heritage village below for the full old-Fujairah hour.
