📖 About

Hatta has quietly built the best-marked trail network in the emirate: colour-graded hiking and mountain-bike loops (green to black) that climb from the wadi floor into the Hajar ridgelines, with the dam, the town oasis and the surrounding peaks rotating through the views.

Hikers get everything from easy 3 km valley walks to sustained ridge climbs; riders get purpose-built MTB flow trails that host national races in winter. Trailheads are signposted, mapped and popular enough that you're never truly alone — rare for UAE mountains.

Go in the cool months, start early, and finish with karak chai in Hatta town: the full mountain-morning ritual, 90 minutes from the world's tallest building.

⭐ Highlights

  • Colour-graded, signposted trail network (rare in the UAE)
  • Purpose-built mountain-bike flow trails
  • Ridgeline views over the dam and the Hajar range
  • Routes for every level, 3 km strolls to black climbs
  • Completely free

💡 Insider Tips

  • Carry 2–3 litres per person even in winter; shade is scarce.
  • Download the trail map offline — signal drops in the wadis.
  • MTB rentals operate seasonally near Wadi Hub; book winter weekends ahead.
  • Wear proper grip: Hajar rock is loose and sharp, and sneakers slide.
