Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara
The largest Sikh temple outside India — golden domes and a kitchen that feeds everyone
Carved white marble and 16 deities — the Gulf's grandest mandir
Dubai's Hindu community worshipped for decades in the tiny temple lane beside Bur Dubai's Grand Mosque — a beloved squeeze of shrine rooms above the souk. In 2022 the community's new home opened in Jebel Ali: a luminous white temple blending Indian and Arabic geometry, its domed hall housing 16 deities under one roof.
The temple anchors Jebel Ali's remarkable "Worship Village", where churches of many denominations and the Sikh gurdwara stand within walking distance of each other — possibly the densest interfaith block in the world, and a genuinely uplifting place to visit.
Non-Hindu visitors are welcome outside major festival crushes: dress modestly, deposit shoes, and wander the marble hall as bells, incense and marigolds do their timeless work.
