Al Fahidi Historical District
Wind towers, coral-stone lanes and courtyard cafés — the Dubai that came first
A tiny heritage house devoted entirely to coffee — smell it before you find it
Tucked into a wind-tower house in Al Fahidi, the Coffee Museum is one of Dubai's most charming small museums — two floors of antique roasters, grinders, dallahs and brewing rituals from Ethiopia, Arabia, Turkey, Japan and beyond, assembled by a collector who plainly loves the bean.
It's hands-on in the best way: attendants roast and pound beans the traditional Emirati way, brew you gahwa with cardamom and dates, and demonstrate Ethiopian and Turkish ceremonies on request. Upstairs reading corners hold coffee literature and vintage advertising.
Barely anyone visits — which, combined with the aroma, the courtyard and the price of roughly nothing, makes it the hidden-gem textbook entry. Coffee people should treat it as mandatory.
