📖 About

Founded in 1969 (with Sheikh Zayed's direct patronage), the National Museum is the country's oldest — the original home of the finds from Hili, Hafeet and the oasis digs that eventually earned Al Ain its World Heritage inscription.

Galleries pair the archaeology (Bronze Age pottery, tomb goods, flint) with ethnography — Bedouin silver, weaponry, education's early days — in an endearing old-school museum style. Renovation works have come and gone; check status, and pair with the adjacent Sultan Fort regardless.

⭐ Highlights

  • The UAE's first museum (1969)
  • Original Hili and Hafeet excavation finds
  • Bedouin ethnography collections
  • Sultan Fort adjoining

💡 Insider Tips

  • Verify opening status before planning around it.
  • Combine with Hili Park to see where the finds came from.
  • The old souk quarter nearby completes the morning.
