The Grand Tomb's carved doorway — Bronze Age monuments in a garden setting
Hili holds the showpiece of UAE archaeology: the Grand Tomb, a 4,000-year-old circular monument whose entrance stones carry the famous relief of people and oryx — the image on the country's heritage everything. Around it spread settlement remains and further tombs of the Umm an-Nar culture, landscaped into a visitable garden park.
It's the most accessible of Al Ain's UNESCO components — flat paths, interpretive panels, golden-hour photogenics — and the natural field trip after the National Museum's galleries.
